During the carnival nights local
inhabitants of Prcanj, settlement known for old
captain families, prepare mussels in large pots.
Afterwards, the food is washed down by wine,
accompanied by songs and music for all tastes and
wills. The best way to consume this kind of sea
product is to eat it right off the shell, as the
mussels are the most tasteful when eaten with
special sauce. It’s no wonder then that message from
Prcanj says: “Dip, eat and enjoy!”

One can hardly resist the smell of
the rich Bokelian cuisine abundant with the smell of
the sea and stone, full of flavours and aromas

and song are inevitable part of this festivity

culinary art of festivity held in the open fills the
eyes and stomachs of present people.

share their joy with those present and make this
carnival unforgettable.
